Furry Smile

Hi Crafty Friends

Hoping you are all fit and well.

Furry Smile is one of Penny Black's new stamps this year and has been smiling at use from the store for a couple of months.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Artesian Pool, Bettle Black, Lava and 200gsm White Laser paper.

On the White paper, I stamped the cupcake from Penny Black's - Party Time (30-049) and coloured them with Copic Markers YR14, Y21, V22, V25, B00, B02, B05, R22, R27.

I then stamped 2 of Penny Black's die ...Birthday (51-338) from the Artesian Blue and Beetle Black and adhered them to the top of the card, off-set from each other.

Lastly it was time to stamp and colour Furry Smile.  I stamped him with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured with Copic Markers E50, E31, E35, E37 and E79.

I then cut out Furry Smile, keeping straight edges along the bottom and right so that I could adhere it to the corner.

I adhered Furry Smile to the card using mounting tape and wa-la, the card is finished.

If you like Furry Smile, you can pick him up instore or on our website - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/penny-black/

Side Order - Birthday

Hi Crafty Friends

I think everyone is over therapy from us having them make the Side-Order/Karen Burniston card a couple of years ago and thought I'd share this card idea with you.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Whirlpool, Creampuff, Fawn and lastly Pinecone card.

I die cut the shapes from Tim Holtz / Sizzix - Birthday Side-Order die set (662703) using colours of Bazzill including - Pinecone, Creampuff, Whirlpool, Petunia, Sunbeam and Pear card - let's just say, there was double-sided tape on the card before I started cutting.

Before adhering the layers together, I blended a little Distress Ink - Brushed Corduroy around the edges and then started layering up the Cakes and Birthday Hats.  I have to admit, it was fun until I got to the pesky little dots, but they do finish the cakes off nicely.

I die cut two layers of Penny Black's ...Birthday die (51-338) using Whirlpool and Creampuff, edged with Distress Ink - Brushed Corduroy and adhered this to the card using mounting tape.

If you like these dies, you'll find them instore or on our website - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/sizzix-dies-dies/ OR https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/penny-black-dies/

Hope you have a Crafty Day.

Let's Decorate

Hi Crafty Friends

Our recent delivery from Picket Fence Studios included this beautiful stamp set and oh my, now I need some cake.  This stamp set is called - Let's Decorate.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Creampuff, Pinecone and Dotted Swiss - Irish Eyes.

On the base of the Irish Eyes, I stamped the words from Penny Black's Sprinkles & Smiles stamp set (30-297) and embossed with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

I then cut a scallop rectangle from Creampuff card and coloured the background with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink.

I stamped the Cakes and Roses on 200gsm card and coloured with Copic Markers E40, E41, E43, E47, E49, E15, Y21, YR23, YR000, YR02, G20, G21 and G24.

I accented the Cakes and stands using a White Gelly Roll pen.

After cutting out the images (yes, there are dies), I adhered these images to the card using mounting tape.

These stamps (and dies) are available instore or on our website - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/picket-fence-studios/

Hoping you have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Crafty Friends

The card starts with a base of Bazzill Walnut which I stamped Darkroom Door's Mesh Texture stamp on.

I then added layers of Pinecone and Creampuff, which I stamped Penny Black's - Edge to Edge (30-164) onto using an Archival Coffee ink pad.

I stamped the images using a Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad and coloured the flowers with Copic Markers - YG61, YG63, YG67, Y15, Y17, YR23, E31, E35, E37, E79, R81, R83, R85 and R39.

Sunflower Love

Hi Crafty Friends

I came across Waffle Flower's Sunflower Love when checking our What's New and, let's just say, I'm rather partial of Sunflowers - I had to have it.

This card starts with a base of Premium Kraft card followed by Creampuff and Colour Copy Card 200gsm.

On the Colour Copy card, I blended Distress Ink Pads - Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint and Pine Needles.  I then stamped Darkroom Door's Postcards background stamp, stamped with Pine Needles.

From Creampuff card, I stamped Penny Black's - Just for You and 'Celebrate' words.  I adhered Just For You to the top right of the card.

I then stamped the Sunflower Love on Colour Copy 200gsm card using a Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad.

I coloured the image with Copic Markers - YG61, YG63, YG67, Y11, Y15, Y17, YR23, E35 and E37.  The centre frame was coloured with R83, R85, R87, R39.

I adhered 'Celebrate' to the centre of the frame and after fussy-cutting the image (there is also a die set available for this), adhered the Sunflower Love to the lower left of the card using mounting tape.

These stamps and dies are available on our website - Waffle Flower - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/waffle-flower/

Whimsical Wildflowers

Hi Crafty Friends

Just the name 'Whimsical Wildflowers' as a stamp set got me interested.

This is a stamp set by Gina K Designs and includes beautiful flowers, leaves and sentiments.  Seriously calling to me and my Copics.

Here I have created two cards using the same stamp from the Whimsical Wildflowers set.

Both cards have a base of Bazzill Pear followed by either Flamingo or Heidi and finished with Creampuff.

The flowers were all stamped with Memento's Rich Cocoa ink pad.  I find using a brown ink pad on delicate images can sometimes help make it look a little more real and not as big of a contrast that black does.

The first card has sentiments from Penny Black's Special Thoughts stamp set - 30-338 and is coloured with Copic Markers - E15, E18, Y21, YG61, YG63, YG67, R20, R22 and R27.  I then fussy-cut around the images and adhered them to the card with mounting tape.

The second card has sentiments from Gina K Design's - Watercolour Flowers and was coloured with Copic Markers - E15, E18, Y21, YG61, YG63, YG67, V22, V25, V28.  The labels in the middle are from Sizzix (660060).  These flowers were also fussy-cut and then adhered to the card using mounting tape.

If you are interested in this stamp set, check them out instore or on our website - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/gina-k-designs/

Hoping you have a Whimsical day

Hi Crafty Friends

While preparing for this month's class, I was playing with Penny Black's - All Wrapped Up stamp set (30-607).

Before colouring, I blended a little Brushed Corduroy and then the colouring starts.

Using Copic Markers R05, R27, R46, R39, Y08, YR12, YG61, YG63, YG67, E31, E35 and E37, I coloured the four images.

After I finished colour, I distressed the edges of this card adhered it to the Bazzill Guacamole, Pomegranate and lastly the Creampuff card.

I stamped the words on Bazzill Pear card and layered it on the Guacamole card.  I then adhered them in the centre of the card using mounting tape.

Penny Black - Rose Garden (v2)

Hi Everyone

I really loved colouring Penny Black's Rose Garden stamp and here's another card.

Starting with a base of Bazzill Rope Swing (Dotted Swiss), I added Sweetheart, Dusty Pink and Lily White which I die cut using a Lawn Fawn's Quilted Backdrop die and edged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I stamped the Rose Garden on Colour Copy 200gsm card using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured the image with Copic Markers - E40, E41, E43, E47, RV52, RV55, R37, R17, R27, YR23, Y21, YG63 and YG67.  I cut the image out and then adhered it the centre of the card with mounting tape.

The words 'Wishing you a day...' (Penny Black - Sprinkles & Smiles 30-297) was stamped on Creampuff card and adhere to the card.

I added 'Happy Birthday' from Darkroom Door's - Happy Birthday stamp set (DDRS143) which was stamped on the Dusty Pink and embossed with WOW - Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

I finished the card with a Twine bow in the centre of the flowers.

Have a great day - do some craft!!!

Penny Black - Irish Luck

Hi Everyone

'Irish Luck' (30-538) was released by Penny Black earlier this year and it's taken me a little while to play with him as I kept thinking of him as a St Patrick's Day stamp.

I stamped a couple of Bears out and coloured the hats and vests with Copic Markers W0, W1, W3, W5 and W7.  The Bear was coloured with E50, E31, E35 and E37.

I then played with the shirt, ribbon and flowers, colouring them light pink (R81, and R83) or light green.

Finally, I decided I liked the pink trim best and started making my card.

The card base is Bazzill Creampuff and followed with Pear, Dusty Pink and then added a layer of Kaisercraft Paper.

I cut the Tim Holtz Sizzix Ornate Frame (658720) from Bazzill Thunder card and added the centre from Pear card.

I stamped 'Happy Birthday' from Darkroom Door's Happy Birthday stamp set and embossed it with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

I then added mounting tape to the back of Irish Luck and adhered him to the centre of the card.

I now love 'Irish Luck' and look forward to playing with him more.

Rose Garden

Hi Everyone

During a recent play-date, I was playing with Penny Black's stamp set called Rose Garden (40-679) and created this card.

The card starts with Bazzill Sandbox Dotted Swiss card which I added Creampuff and Jacaranda card to.

I had some white woodgrain card and stamped the lace border from Penny Black's Footnotes (30-238) which I stamped in Distress Archival Hickory Smoke ink pad.

Next I stamped the Rose Garden on 200gsm Colour Copy Laser Paper using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured it with Copic Markers - B91, B93, B95, B97, B99, YG63, YG67, R81, R83, R85 and R39.

After cutting out the image, I tied twine around the Planter and secured it with a double knot.

I then adhered the Rose Garden to the centre of the card with mounting tape.

Hope you have a great day

Perfectly Perfect

Hi Everyone

I've been playing with Altenew's Perfectly Perfect stamp set and Copic Markers.

While playing with this stamp set, I really liked this little flower in the lower left corner of the stamp set.

My card base starts with Bazzill Dotted Swiss - Berry, followed by Pear, Sunset Rose and Lily White.

I stamped the flower 6 times and two of the leaf sets 3 times each.  I then coloured the images with Copic Markers - R81, R83, R85, R39, YG61, YG63 and YG67.  Next I cut out the flowers and leaves and adhered them to the card.

The words from Penny Black's - Grateful Heart stamp set (30-467) was stamped with Versamark and embossed with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder and then adhered to the centre of the card using mounting tape.

Lastly, I added Clear Wink of Stella to highlight the flowers and allowed to dry.

All My Love

Hi Everyone

This little cutie was released by Penny Black just before Christmas and is called 'All My Love' (30-534).

I started with a base card of Bazzill Sweetheart card and added Lily White and then Premium Kraft Card.

On the Kraft card, I stenciled My Favorite Things - Full of Hearts stencil using a Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink Pad.

After layering up on Bazzill Pinecone and Lily White again, I added the Library page from Penny Black's set - Life's Journal (30-247) which is stamped on Colour Copy 200gsm paper using a Coffee Archival Ink Pad.  I then stamped 'All My Love' using a Jet Black Archival Ink Pad.

Now for Teddy - I stamped him on another piece of Colour Copy paper and coloured Teddy using Copic Markers - E50, E31, E35, E37.  The Rose was coloured with Copic Markers YG63, YG67, R37 and R59.  Lastly 'LOVE' was coloured using Copic Markers - RV52, RV55 and RV69.  Take your time blending these to get the ombre look.

The next step was to fussy cut this out.  I started with a scalpel cutting anything inside the main image and then cut the outer image with scissors.  It didn't take as long as I thought it would, but wanted to be able to see the Library Page through the image.

Hope you like the card.

A Friend For Life

Hi Everyone

In this month's class, we used a new Spellbinders die set - A2 Corner Cotillion (S5-364) and wanted to have a further play with it.

On this card, I started with a base of Bazzill Dusty Pink and added Lily White.

I then die cut the Corner Cotillion from Gold Foil card and trimmed it down to fit on the card.

I then die cut the flowers from the Dusty Pink and Lily White card.

I used a Stylus and Rubber Mat to shape the petals and layered up the flowers with glue between each layer.

I then used Aged Brass Wax on the outer edges of the petals to highlight the tips.

I then cut out 6 flowers from Bazzill Pear and blended Peeled Paint and Pine Needles to one end.

On the outer edges of the Leaves, I smudges a little Aged Brass Wax on the edges to highlight them.

Using the Oval in the die set, I cut this from Lily White.

From Penny Black's set - Edge to Edge (30-164), I took the stamp 'You are a friend for life' and cut it up so that I could use it in 3 lines.

I then stamped the words using Versamark and embossed it with Gold Embossing powder.  Once melted, I adhered the oval to the centre of the card.

I then adhered the 3 flowers to the top of the card using glue and then added the leaves around the background.

Lastly, I added Glossy Accents to the centre of the flowers and then filled it with Prills - 'A Penny Saved' and allowed them to dry.  I then tipped off the excess Prills and put them back in the jar.

Hope you have a great day.

Happy Stamping

Penny Black - Summer Glow v2

Hi Everyone

I'm back again with another card using the Penny Black cling stamp - Summer Glow (40-610).

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Lily White, which I coloured Purple Wine around followed by Beeswax and Canson Watercolour Card.

I stamped the words from Penny Black's stamp set Treasured Sentiments (30-356) using an Archival Jet Black Ink pad in the top right corner and then stamped Summer Glow using a Coffee Archival Ink Pad to the left.

I coloured the image with Altenew's Watercolour Palette with the Leaves being coloured with Forest Glades and Evergreen.

I coloured the flowers using Purple Wine and Puffy Heart.  I really only coloured the outer edges of the petals and allowed the colour to soften as it gets to the inside of the flower.  The Yellow centres were coloured with Fresh Lemon and Citrus Burst.  Lastly I added some Mocha to the centre of the flowers.

Penny Black - Summer Glow

Hi Everyone

I started making this card late last year and only just got to finish it.

This card is using Penny Black's Summer Glow cling stamp - 40-610 and Footnotes stamp set 30-238.

The card starts with a base of Bazzill Typhoon, followed by Dotted Swiss Irish Eyes and lastly Colour Copy 200gsm paper.

I created a border on the Colour Copy paper using painters tape (then realised Darkroom Door bought a stencil set out which would have worked perfectly) and coloured on the inside of the tape using Twisted Citron Distress Ink.

I then stamped the Footnotes words using the Twisted Citron Distress Ink.

Now it's time to stamp the the Summer Glow image.  I stamped it on the Colour Copy paper with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.  I also stamped the 3 main flowers on another piece of Colour Copy paper and coloured them separately.

I started by colouring the leaves first using Copic Markers - G21, G34, G28, G29 and YG23.  To colour the flowers, I used Copic Markers - B23, B18, B39 and in the centres with Y38.

I cut out the second layer of flowers and adhere them to the main card using glue.

Lastly, I stamped 'On Your Birthday' from Penny Black's stamp set - Special Wishes 30-229 using the Archival Ink pad - Watering Can.

Summer Glow is available in-store or online - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/penny-black/penny-black-40-610-summer-glow/

Special Friend

Hi Everyone

I've had another play with this stamp set by Altenew - Best Mom and created this card using the Altenew Watercolour palette.

The card starts with a base of Bazzill Creampuff, followed by Guacamole and the last layer of Creampuff.

I then stamped the Birthday words from Penny Black's Grateful Heart set (30-467).

Now for the flowers - on Canson Watercolour card 300gsm, I stamped two sets of Best Mom flowers using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.

Using the Altenew Watercolour Palette and a waterbrush, I coloured the leaves first using the Forest Glades watercolour and then the flowers with Rubellite watercolour.

When the flowers were dry, I halo cut out the images (I hand cut, but there is a die set to match this) and then adhered them, around the words, to the card.

When all the layers are secure, I added tiny dots of Enamel Accents - Lemon Twist to the centres of the flowers.

This stamp set is available on our website - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/altenew-dies/altenew-best-mom-die-set/

This stamp set was designed for the American market and features 'Mom' rather than 'Mum'.  I haven't really used the words myself and only used the words, so the spelling hasn't turned me off this stamp set.

Calendar Project - December 2017

Hi Everyone

December has arrived and its time for another calendar page.

This months page features Penny Black's cling stamp - Red Sparkle (40-481).  Now I have to admit, I did give this stamp a little 'plastic surgery' and removed the small branch on the top left of the image, keeping just the main flower, leaves and stems.

This page features Bazzill Ivy, Guacamole, Kaisercraft Burgundy and Canson Watercolour card.

I stamped the flowers using Archival Jet Black ink pad onto the Canson Watercolour card.  I coloured around the edge of the flowers and leaves with Distress Markers - Pumice Stone and blended out with a water brush.  I then coloured the flowers with Distress Markers Aged Mahogany, Festive Berries, Forest Moss, Bundled Sage, Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge.

I then blended around the edges with a Wild Honey Distress Ink Pad and then added Distress Micro Glaze on top so that the colouring doesn't fade.

We hope you have a great December and look forward to seeing you soon.

Happy Stamping
