Happy Australia Day!

Hey Crafty Friends

Happy Australia Day!!!

Just sharing a card I made using Darkroom Door's Grevillea's stamp set (DDRS189).

Start with a base card of Bazzill Walnut, followed by Kraft card and then Laser Paper (200gsm).

On the Laser Paper, I blended Catherine Pooler inks - Spruce, Eucalyptus, Glitz and Icing on the Cake.  I then stamped images from Darkroom Door's Sydney Vol 2 stamp set (DDRS106) stamped using the Twilight link pad.

I die cut the word 'Aussie' using Lawn Fawns - Oliver's Stitched ABC's (LF2261) from Bazzill Guacamole card and blended some Spruce ink across the bottom of each letter.  I then adhered this to the base of the card.

I stamped the Grevillea using Catherine Pooler's Rouge ink pad and stamped the leaves using Eucalyptus (very Aussie!).  I fussy cut the images and added them to the card with mounting tape.  I accented the Grevillea's with small dots of Enamel Accents - Lemon Twist.

Finish the flowers is a little twine bow and you're good to go.

Happy Australia Day (and Happy Stamping)

Altenew Delicate Clusters

 Hey Crafty Friends

We hope you had some time over the past couple of weeks for a little crafting time.

Robyn has been working hard catching up on kits, whilst Michelle has been preparing new card kits.

We also had some time to play with some stamps we just hadn't put away and this includes Altenew's Delicate Clusters stamp and die set.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Pomegrante, followed by Bazzill Twig and some scrapbook papers in blue and brown.

In the lower right of the card, I stamped Happy Birthday by Darkroom Door (DDRS143).

Now for the Delicate Clusters.  I stamped the flowers with ink pads from the Red Cosmos, Warm & Cozy and Green Valley range.  I added dots in the centre, inked with the Espresso ink pad.  I stamped 5 sets of flowers and die cut the using the matching die set.

I tied the flowers together with Twine and adhered them to the card using mounting tape.

A quick and easy card, which can be made in so many different colours.

Hope you have a great day.

Altenew - Wild Flora

Hi Crafty Friends

Goodness, we have been doing lots of crafting during 'social isolation' and hope you are all having some time to play.

This card is made with a mix of Altenew and Darkroom Door stamps.

The card base is Bazzill Dotted Swiss - Butter, followed by Pinecone and green dotted paper by Simple Stories (oops, forgot to hold onto the label for the paper).

On the green dotted paper, I stamped Darkroom Door's - Happy Birthday Sentiment stamp using a Ground Espresso Distress Oxide ink pad.

On a piece of Bazzill Creampuff card, I stamped the Paris Postcard Eclectic Stamp and edged it with a little Antique Linen ink.

Now for the flowers - these are from Altenew and were stamped with a Vintage Photo Distress Archival Ink Pad on Canson Watercolour card and die cut with the matching die set (thank goodness for that die set).

I coloured the flowers using Altenew's Watercolour pan set, colours - Forest Glades, Evergreen, Espresso, Mocha, Warm Sunshine and Fresh Lemon.

Once dry, I added mounting tape to the back of the flowers and adhered them to the card.

If you like this stamp set, you'll find it instore or on our website - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/altenew/altenew-wild-flora-stamp-die-bundle/

Floral Focus

Hi Crafty Friends

We hope you are all well and keeping away from this terrible virus.

Over the weekend, one of the new My Favorite Things stamps that arrived was - Floral Focus.

This is a beautiful stamp of what looks to me like Magnolia's and is a large, single stamp.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Dotted Swiss - Berry Kiss, followed by Juneberry and Canson Watercolour card.

On the Watercolour card, I very lightly stamped Darkroom Door's French Script using an Antique Linen Distress Ink Pad.  I then stamped the Floral Focus using an Archival Coffee ink pad in the lower right corner.

Using Altenew's Watercolour Palette, I started by colouring the background with Frayed Leaf and softened with water.

I then coloured the Leaves and Stems using Evergreen and the Petals with Cosmic Berry.  When colouring, I colour the centre of the petal and then soften out with water.

The centre of the flowers were coloured with Fresh Lemon.

After this had dried, I blended a little Peeled Paint Distress Ink around the edges and adhered the card together.

'Sending Love' was stamped on Bazzill Pear card using a Versamark Ink pad and embossed with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder (love this product) and then layered onto some Guacamole card.

You can find this stamp set in-store on our website https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/my-favorite-things-stamps-by-designer/

Wishing you all a happy and healthy day (week, month, year, etc).

Buzzing Bees

Hi Crafty Friends

Here's a little card to get you 'buzzin' (LOL).

This card starts with a square card of Bazzill Creampuff, followed by Pinecone and Beeswax.

On the Beeswax card, I blended Distress Ink - Wild Honey (gees, all these Bee words) through Darkroom Door's Arty Hexagon's stencil (DDSS018).  I distressed the edges of each piece of card before I adhered them to the Creampuff card.

I cut a circle from Creampuff card and whilst it was still on the die, I blended a little Wild Honey around the inside.  After removing the die, I stamped 'Have a Bee-utiful Day' using a Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad.  Next I adhered this to the centre of the card.

On Colour Copy 200gsm paper, stamp 6 flowers from Darkroom Door's Buzzing Bees stamp set (DDRS205) using a Memento Toffee Crush ink pad.

Also stamp a large Bee using the Toffee Crush ink pad.

Colour the Flowers and Bees using Copic Markers - C3, C5, C7, 100, YG03, YG63, YG67, Y21, Y17, YR23, E35 and E37.

Cut out the Flowers and Bees and adhere them around the Bee-utiful words using mounting tape.

If you like this stamp set, you can pick it up instore or on our website - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/darkroom-door-stamps-by-designer/

Have a Bee-utiful Day.

Whimsical Wildflowers - v2

Hi Crafty Friends

I just want to say, the Copics made me do it!!!
This stamp set was still sitting on my desk and calling out to be coloured in, so here's another card using Gina K Designs - Whimsical Wildflowers.

The card starts with a base of Bazzill Walnut which I stamped Darkroom Door's Mesh Texture stamp on.

I then added layers of Pinecone and Creampuff, which I stamped Penny Black's - Edge to Edge (30-164) onto using an Archival Coffee ink pad.

I stamped the images using a Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad and coloured the flowers with Copic Markers - YG61, YG63, YG67, Y15, Y17, YR23, E31, E35, E37, E79, R81, R83, R85 and R39.

I fussy-cut the images and and adhered the leaves and flower buds to the card and mounted the three centre flowers with mounting tape.

This stamp set is available instore or on our website - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/gina-k-designs/

Hoping you have a wonderful day.

Sunflower Love

Hi Crafty Friends

I came across Waffle Flower's Sunflower Love when checking our What's New and, let's just say, I'm rather partial of Sunflowers - I had to have it.

This card starts with a base of Premium Kraft card followed by Creampuff and Colour Copy Card 200gsm.

On the Colour Copy card, I blended Distress Ink Pads - Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint and Pine Needles.  I then stamped Darkroom Door's Postcards background stamp, stamped with Pine Needles.

From Creampuff card, I stamped Penny Black's - Just for You and 'Celebrate' words.  I adhered Just For You to the top right of the card.

I then stamped the Sunflower Love on Colour Copy 200gsm card using a Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad.

I coloured the image with Copic Markers - YG61, YG63, YG67, Y11, Y15, Y17, YR23, E35 and E37.  The centre frame was coloured with R83, R85, R87, R39.

I adhered 'Celebrate' to the centre of the frame and after fussy-cutting the image (there is also a die set available for this), adhered the Sunflower Love to the lower left of the card using mounting tape.

These stamps and dies are available on our website - Waffle Flower - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/waffle-flower/

New Darkroom Door stamps have just arrived

Hi Crafty Friends

Darkroom Door's latest release of stamps and stencils have just arrived and thanks to our class at Creativation, made this card over the weekend.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Creampuff and has layers of Kraft card and Colour Copy paper.

For the blue/purple background, I smudged Tim Holtz's Distress Oxide Ink Pads - Faded Jeans and Dusty Concord over a Craft Sheet, spritz it with water and smudged the Colour Copy paper through it.  When the paper was dry, I stamped Darkroom Door's new - Number Medley stamp set over it using an Archival Watering Can ink pad

From some extra Colour Copy paper, I die cut two tags from Tim Holtz/Sizzix Tag Set, distressed the edges, blended Brushed Corduroy and stamped Darkroom Door's French Script in an Archival Peeled Paint ink pad.  I also added a little reinforcement to the top of the tag, blended with Brushed Corduroy.

I then stamped the two flowers from Darkroom Door's new set - Warm Wishes, using a Memento Toffee Crush ink pad and coloured the with Copic Markers - BV08, BV13, BV00, YG62, YG63 and YG67.

With my colouring now complete, it was time to assemble the card.

I had an extra 'Lots of Labels' stamped image from my Creativation class and not wanting it to go to waste, blended Archival Peeled Paint over it and stamped 'Sending Love' from the Warm Wishes stamp set.

For this label, I really wanted to thread some twine through it, but didn't want to punch a hole, so I die cut two extra tags from Tim Holtz's set from black card and adhered them either size.  I was then able to thread the Hemptique twine through the label around the back and secure with a double knot on the right.

To see Darkroom Door's full release, you'll find them instore or on our website - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/darkroom-door-stamps-by-designer/

To Be Jolly Gift Cards

Hi Crafty Friends

Looking to make your Christmas Gift Cards this year?  Check out these tags made using Darkroom Door's - To Be Jolly and My Favorite Things - Gift Tag Dienamics die.

We always like to make tags as mini cards, so we die cut two tags and adhere them at the top.

The top tag is cut from Bazzill Guacamole and topped with Simple Stories - Winter Wonderland paper.  Across the bottom is either a Scallop or Zig-Zag border cut from Creampuff.

We then added a layer of Dark Red card and the top layer is Lily White.

We took the 'To Be Jolly' stamp and cut the Christmas Tree off it (sorry Rachel).

We stamped 'To Be Jolly' using an Archival - Red Geranium ink pad and then stamped the Tree with and Archival Distress Ink Pad - Peeled Paint.

We blended around the edges with Wild Honey and Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink Pads and then adhered this to the front of the card.

The inside of the card has been cut from Premium Kraft card and has 3 stamps on it from Darkroom Door's stamp sets - Noel (DDRS060), Christmas Reindeer (DDRS020) and Yuletide Greetings (DDRS195).

We scored across the top of this tag and adhered the top to the front tag and secured with some May Arts Olive ribbon.  On the top of the Christmas Tree, I added some Gold Stickles.

You can find these stamp sets on our website https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/darkroom-door-stamps-by-designer/

Hope you have a great day.

Big Sexy Blooms

Hi Crafty Friends

This weekend, I had some birthday cards to make for some special friends and made these two.

These cards are made using Power Poppy's - Big Sexy Blooms and Darkroom Door's Happy Birthday Sentiment stamps.

On both cards, I stamped the image using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.

For the Pink card, I coloured the background with BG23 and BG10.  I then coloured the centre of all the flowers with E31, E35 and E37.  The Yellow flowers are Y21 and YR23 and the Pink Flower with RV52, RV55, RV34 and RV69.

On the Red card, the background is coloured with E40 and E43 and the Red flowers with R17, R27, R46, R39 and a little E79 for extra shadows.

After colouring both images, I stamped Darkroom Door's Happy Birthday Sentiments down the right of the card using Versamark and embossed with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

When making cards, I also like to stamp in the centre, here I stamped the blue flowers with Archival Bluebird ink pad and the brown with Archival Distress Vintage Photo.

Hope you have a great day.
