Happy 11th Birthday Altenew

 Hey Crafty Friends

Thank you for stopping by our blog on Altenew's 11th Birthday Blog Hop.  We're excited to be asked to participate again.

Altenew have been amazing innovators in the crafting industry over the past 11 years, starting with stamps and progressing to dies, stencils, embossing folders, inks, sprays, tools, paints and watercolours.  Most recently they added Shimmer Relief Pastes to their collection, which are so popular, it's hard to keep them in stock.

Today we feature on of Altenew's newest releases - Build-A-Garden - Through The Tulips.


In this card, I stamped the Tulips using an Obsidian Black ink pad and using the stencils, coloured them with Mauve, Berrylicious and Acai Berry inks from the Dried Petals ink range and Jade, Eucalyptus and Forest Fern from the Frosted Foliage ink range.  On a second set of Tulips, I didn't use the Acai Berry, allowing it to be a softer set of Tulips.

Using Versatile Greetings 2 Die Set, I cut "Happy Birthday" on Laser card and blended Berrylicious and Acai Berry over it.  I layered it on the shadow die, cut from Bazzill Lily White.

The card was assembled on Bazzill Juneberry, Sweetheart, Lily White and Kraft card.  I also added a layer of Gold Mirrored card for a little shimmer.

I adhered one set of Tulips to the card and then added the second set and words with mounting tape.

Altenew 10th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 2 + Giveaway (over $3,500 in Total Prizes)

In our Blog Hop post, we would like to feature Altenew's Mega Blossom Stencil set and have made 2 cards using it.



In making these cards, we have used Altenew's beautiful ink colours - Dried Petals and Forest Trail - oh my, I'm in love.

We started with colouring three Roses onto Laser card and used the colours Pink Crystal, Mauve and Berrylicious. We coloured the Leaves separate and used Aloe Vera, Matcha Tea and Swamp Green. I then cut out the images so I could layer them however I linked.

For our first card, we started with a card base of Bazzill Sweetheart, followed by Creampuff and Dotted Swiss Sunset Rose. We used the Organic Linen 3D Embossing Folder and inked it with Vanilla Cream before embossing a piece of Creampuff card. We adhered this to the left-centre of the card and then adhered the Leaves on top, followed by the Rose that has been adhered with mounting tape.


We stamped 'Bloom with Kindness' from the Dynamic Duo: Wildflower Bouquet using an Obsidian Black ink pad and cut it out using the matching die set. We then adhered this to the card using mounting tape.

For our second card, we used a base card of Bazzill Sweetheart, followed by layers of Bazzill Parakeet and Creampuff. We die cut a border from Tim Holtz' Crochet die set and adhered this across the base of the card.

We adhered the Leaves to the card and one of the Roses. The second rose and 'Just For You' (from Wildflower Bouquet) using mounting tape.

Altenew 8th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 3 + Giveaway (over $2,000 in Total Prizes)

In our Blog Hop post, we would like to feature the new Endless Florescence stamp & die set and have made 2 cards using it.

In both cards, I stamped the image on Canson Watercolour 300gsm card and coloured them with Altenew's Watercolour 36 Pan set using the colours - Coral Berry, Grapevine, Warn Sunshine Sunkissed, Autumn Blaze, Forest Glades and Espresso.  I then die cut the images using the matching die set.

The first card is a slimline card with a base of Bazzill Bahama, followed by Lily White.  On some white card, I blended Altenew's Forest Glades over it.  I then stamped the words from Endless Florescence over it using Altenew's Marshland Ink Pad.  In the top left corner, I stamped Happy Birthday from the Painted Greetings stamp set.

Lastly, I adhered the image to the card using mounting tape.



For the second card, I started with a base of Bazzill Pearl, Guacamole, Piglet and then on white card blended Coral Berry over it.  I made sure the Coral Berry is darker at the bottom and moved to be lighter at the top.

I then die cut the Dotted Tile Debossing Cover die through it for extra effect.

I added the words from 'Across the Pond' to the top centre of the card.

For the image, as this is a standard card size, I knew I would need to trim off some of the image which seemed like a waste, but I was able to tuck it behind one of the yellow flowers, in front of the Tulip stem, so it looks like it was always there.  I adhered the image to the front of the card using mounting tape.

Altenew Delicate Clusters

 Hey Crafty Friends

We hope you had some time over the past couple of weeks for a little crafting time.

Robyn has been working hard catching up on kits, whilst Michelle has been preparing new card kits.  

We also had some time to play with some stamps we just hadn't put away and this includes Altenew's Delicate Clusters stamp and die set.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Pomegrante, followed by Bazzill Twig and some scrapbook papers in blue and brown.

In the lower right of the card, I stamped Happy Birthday by Darkroom Door (DDRS143).

Now for the Delicate Clusters.  I stamped the flowers with ink pads from the Red Cosmos, Warm & Cozy and Green Valley range.  I added dots in the centre, inked with the Espresso ink pad.  I stamped 5 sets of flowers and die cut the using the matching die set.

I tied the flowers together with Twine and adhered them to the card using mounting tape.

A quick and easy card, which can be made in so many different colours.

Altenew 7th Anniversary Blog Hop Day 2 + Giveaway (over $1,400 in Total Prizes)

We love using Altenew’s products including their stamps, inks, dies and embellishments and our cards today show off not only the versatility of the stamps but the brilliant colours that match them.

One of our favourite stamps from Altenew's recent releases is the Beautiful Blossoms stamp and die set.  This stamp set looks great in every colour range and we have made 3 cards to show off the flowers.
Each card starts with a base of Bazzill Premium Kraft card and then Lily White.  On Laser (200gsm) card, I blended Altenew's Aqualicious ink using an Altenew Ink Blending Tool.  I then stamped on the card eith Altenew's Dotted Diamond stamp set (using a Teal Cave ink pad), Delicate Tiles (using Aqualicious, Teal Cave and Galactic Stream ink pads) or covering the page with Blissful Blossoms (using Aqualicious and Teal Cave ink pads).

With the Blissful Blossoms stamp and die sets, I pre-cut the flowers from Laser Paper and stamped the Leaves using Forest Glades and Mountain Pine ink pads.

The Flowers were stamped with Altenew’s inks

  •  Sunray and Chamomile
  • Autumn Blaze and Firebrick
  • Fuchsia and Magenta
  • Citrus Burst and Warm Sunshine ink pads. 
  • The centres of the Flowers were stamped with Almond Butter and Milk Chocolate ink pads.

I added words to the cards from Altenew’s fantastic range, including words from Always There, Amazing You, Simply Friend Die and my favourite – Floral Alphabet for the word ‘HUGS’.
