Mice Day To Celebrate

 Hi Crafty Friends

In our April class, we used My Favorite Things' stamp and die set - Mice Day to Celebrate.  This stamp set is so much fun to play with and I thought I'd add another card to our blog.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Kisses, followed by Bazzill Arctic.  The top layer of Laser 200gsm Card, which I stenciled Hero Arts' Sun Background Stencil using Altenew's - Sea Breeze and Tide Blue ink pads and edged each Sunray with Crystal Stickles.

I stamped each of the images on the Laser 200gsm card using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured with Copic Markers E50, E31, E35, E37, E41, E43, E47, B00, B02, B05, B24, R32, R35, R37 and R59.  I added accents using a White Gelly Roll pen.

When I die cut the shapes, I cut extra layers and adhere them together, so when I added them to the card, I didn't have to use mounting tape, but the card still has depth.

The words are from My Favorite Things' - Greetings Galore stamp set, stamped on Arctic card using a Versamark ink pad and embossed with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

Hoping you have a great day.

Unicorns and Glitter

Hi Crafty Friends

We think it's time for some glitter, rainbows and unicorns - don't you?

This card uses one of My Favorite Things new stamp sets - Unicorns & Glitter and just brings a smile to your face.  The set includes these two girls, matching cats, rainbows and words.

This card has a base of Bazzill Dotted Swiss - Ballet and has layers of Bazzill Beetle Black.

I added layers of paper from Doodlebug - Fairy Tales and blended a little Picked Raspberry Distress Ink around the edges.

For the words across the bottom, after stamping and embossing with Opaque Bright White embossing powder, I blended Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Tumbled Glass to create a rainbow on the white card.

Now - onto the Unicorn Girls.  I stamped these on 200gsm Laser card using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured with Copic Markers - E00, E11, R20, YG11, YG06, YG09, Y11, Y15, Y17, YR16, B00, B02, B05, B28, V12, V15, V17, RV02, RV04 and RV06 - phew!

After cutting out these ladies, I added white accents using a Gelly Roll 0.8 White pen and adhered them to the card using mounting tape.

The final step was to add Clear Wink of Stella to practically anything standing still on the card (LOL).

You can find this stamp set instore or on our website - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/my-favorite-things-stamps-by-designer/

Floral Focus

Hi Crafty Friends

We hope you are all well and keeping away from this terrible virus.

Over the weekend, one of the new My Favorite Things stamps that arrived was - Floral Focus.

This is a beautiful stamp of what looks to me like Magnolia's and is a large, single stamp.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Dotted Swiss - Berry Kiss, followed by Juneberry and Canson Watercolour card.

On the Watercolour card, I very lightly stamped Darkroom Door's French Script using an Antique Linen Distress Ink Pad.  I then stamped the Floral Focus using an Archival Coffee ink pad in the lower right corner.

Using Altenew's Watercolour Palette, I started by colouring the background with Frayed Leaf and softened with water.

I then coloured the Leaves and Stems using Evergreen and the Petals with Cosmic Berry.  When colouring, I colour the centre of the petal and then soften out with water.

The centre of the flowers were coloured with Fresh Lemon.

After this had dried, I blended a little Peeled Paint Distress Ink around the edges and adhered the card together.

'Sending Love' was stamped on Bazzill Pear card using a Versamark Ink pad and embossed with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder (love this product) and then layered onto some Guacamole card.

You can find this stamp set in-store on our website https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/my-favorite-things-stamps-by-designer/

Wishing you all a happy and healthy day (week, month, year, etc).

Altenew - Stargazer

Hi Crafty Friends

While playing over Christmas, I made this card using Altenew's Build A Flower: Stargazer stamp set.

I started with a base of Bazzill Guacamole and added layers of Roselle and Blossom.

On a piece of Colour Copy 200gsm paper, I stamped My Favorite Things - Happy Birthday Background over it using a Versamark ink pad and embossed it with WOW - Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

On another piece of Colour Copy paper, I stamped and embossed the words again and die cut Altenew's Simply Friend die from it and an extra piece of Roselle card.

I blended Peeled Paint Distress Ink pad around the Colour Copy page and the base of 'Friend' and then adhered the layers to the card.

Now to the Stargazer flowers.  I stamped the flowers using Altenew's Red Sunset ink pad set of - Blush, Rouge, Crimson and Velvet.  I added tips to the stamens using Enamel Accents - Lemon Twist.

I stamped the leaves using Altenew's Green Fields ink pad set of - Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades and Evergreen.

After die-cutting the shapes, I adhered the leaves to the card and added the flowers using mounting tape.

If this stamp set takes your fancy, you can pick it up instore or via our website - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/altenew/

Hoping you have a wonderful day.

Let's Party

Hi Everyone

I've been playing over the weekend with Darkroom Door's new Eclectic Stamps - Cupcake (DDES047) and Candles (DDES048).

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Dotted Swiss - Sandbox followed by Pomegranate and Lily White.

On the smooth side of the Lily White card, I sprayed Distress Oxide Sprays - Fired Brick, Walnut Stain and Fossilized Amber.  I splashed water on the background and dried the card with a heat gun.

When the card was fully dry, I stamped the Candles using a Versamark ink pad and embossed them with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder and heat set.

I die cut the Happy Birthday Circle Frame from My Favorite Things from Black card and added it to the right of the card.

I stamped 'Let's Party!' on Black card with Versamark and embossed the words with White embossing powder and added it to the card.

Lastly, on a separate piece of Colour Copy 200gsm, I stamped the Cupcake with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.  The cupcake wrapper was coloured with Copic Markers - Y21, YR24 and E35.  The cupcake was coloured with E43, E47 and E49 and lastly the icing was coloured with R20, R22, R27 and R29.

I halo cut the cupcake and added it to the card using mounting tape.

If you would like these stamps, you will find them on our website https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/darkroom-door-stamps-by-designer/ or call Robyn on (07) 3888 2462.

I die cut 2 stitched fishtail dies from My Favorite Things dienamics and stamped the words from Altenew's Amazing You stamp set and embossed them with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

Gorjuss - Ruby

Hi Everyone

The Gorjuss stamp range are so beautiful I sometimes feel rather cautious taking them out of the packaging.

Today I'm sharing a card I made using the stamp called 'Ruby' (907251) who is sitting on a swing with her cat.

This stamp is much larger, but I've made this as a normal A6 card so that you can see that she does fit on a normal card.

I started with a base of Bazzill Burgundy card, adding Creampuff and Thunder to the card.

I then stamped Ruby on Colour Copy 200gsm paper using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.

Now it's time to start colouring.  I always colour the background first, so I coloured with Copic Markers - YG61, YG63 and YG67, creating shadow with the darker shades around the image and blending out.

I then coloured Ruby's face and Arms with E50, E00, E11 and R20 for blush.  As her face is quite large, I needed to add E50 to the centre of the face.  I also added some E04 to the shadows for more depth.

I coloured Ruby's hair with E41, E43, E47 and E49, working on one section at a time.

Ruby's dress was coloured with R17, R37, R39, R59 and I also ran a W3 over the top to darken it a little.

Lastly the Cat was coloured with W0, W3, W5 and W7.

I added the words over the bottom left of the card from My Favorite Things - Essential Sentiments stamp set.

All My Love

Hi Everyone

This little cutie was released by Penny Black just before Christmas and is called 'All My Love' (30-534).

I started with a base card of Bazzill Sweetheart card and added Lily White and then Premium Kraft Card.

On the Kraft card, I stenciled My Favorite Things - Full of Hearts stencil using a Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink Pad.

After layering up on Bazzill Pinecone and Lily White again, I added the Library page from Penny Black's set - Life's Journal (30-247) which is stamped on Colour Copy 200gsm paper using a Coffee Archival Ink Pad.  I then stamped 'All My Love' using a Jet Black Archival Ink Pad.

Now for Teddy - I stamped him on another piece of Colour Copy paper and coloured Teddy using Copic Markers - E50, E31, E35, E37.  The Rose was coloured with Copic Markers YG63, YG67, R37 and R59.  Lastly 'LOVE' was coloured using Copic Markers - RV52, RV55 and RV69.  Take your time blending these to get the ombre look.

The next step was to fussy cut this out.  I started with a scalpel cutting anything inside the main image and then cut the outer image with scissors.  It didn't take as long as I thought it would, but wanted to be able to see the Library Page through the image.

Hope you like the card.

Cheers

Hi Everyone

I've been playing with Power Poppy's set - Dream Wedding and really liked the shape of the Champagne bottle.  It's small enough to repeat the stamping, but not too small that you lose the detail.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Beetle Black, followed by Gold Foil.

On the Colour Copy paper, I stamped the Champagne Bottles using Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.  I then coloured the background with E40 and E41.

I then coloured the bottles with YG61, YG63, YG67, R20, R22, R27, E35, Y21 and YR23.  I then adhered this to the front of the card.

I then used My Favorite Things 'Cheers' die and cut it from Beetle Black and Gold Foil card.  I then adhered them together slightly off-set.

On Beetle Black, I stamped 'Happy Anniversary' from My Favorite Things - Essential Sentiments stamp set and embossed it with Gold Embossing powder.

I then trimmed off the edges and adhered this and 'Cheers' to the card.

Hope you have a great day

Power Poppy - Go Wild

Hi Everyone

Power Poppy's Go Wild stamp set has this gorgeous little Mason Jar and flowers on it, but always seemed too small to small to be a main feature on a card, but I had an opportunity to play with it over the Christmas break and came up with this card.

Starting with a base card of Bazzill Premium Kraft, I added Java and then Kaisercraft papers.  I used My Favorite Things Tag and Fishtail dies to add layers to the card.  I stamped 'Happy Birthday' on a scrap of Kraft Card and adhered it to the centre of the card and added Twine vertically to the card.

I stamped the Mason Jar with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured it with Copic Markers - E40, E41, E43, BG10, B00, B02, Y15, Y17, E35, E37, YG63, YG67, B18, B23, B32, V15, V17, R20, R22, R27 and R39.

I cut the ovals using My Favorite Things Stitched Ovals dies and distressed the edges.  These ovals were then adhered to the card using mounting tape.

This stamp set is available on our website - https://michellescardsandstamps.com.au/products-page/power-poppy/power-poppy-clear-stamp-go-wild/

Hope you have a great weekend.

Calendar Project - March 2018

Hi Everyone

March has arrived along with Autumn.  With the incredible heats of Summer that we have experienced, Autumn is a welcome season.

Today our calendar features Autumnal colours using the My Favorite Things - Layered Leaves die set.

I started with a base of Bazzill Lily White and covered it with Antique Linen Distress Paint and then added layered of Orange and Smoky card.

The Layered Leaves come in three sizes and each set has a solid base and then a top layer with just skeleton of the leaf.

I cheated when cutting out the leaves and put double sided tape on the card, making them easier to adhere together.

After they are together, I blended Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Seedless Preserves, Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy and Gathered Twig Distress Ink Pads (phew, just a couple of inks).

After assembling the leaves on the page, I added the calendar page and 'March' which was coloured with Antique Linen Distress Paint.

Hope you have a great March

Calendar Project: September 2017

Hi Everyone

Good morning SPRING!!!  Now, take that cool weather away and may everyone get over their colds and flu quick.

For my September calendar, I have used My Favorite Things - Fancy Flowers stamp set which I stamped all over the page using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.

Now for the colouring, I have to admit, I really enjoyed these images as they are simple lines, yet you can have fun with different colour combinations and shading.

When colouring, I started by colouring the outside of the images, I used BG01 and then BG000.  I didn't colour the whole page, just around the images.  The leaves were coloured with YG61, YG63 and YG67.  For the flowers, I used Y21, YR24, YR68, RV52, RV55, V22, V25, V27, BG13 and BG49.

After layered the card up on Kaisercraft card and added the word 'September' from Scrapmatts, coloured with Broken China Distress Paint.

Hope you like our calendar page and have a wonderful September.

Planning For Magnolias

Hi Everyone

This is Power Poppy's Planning For Magnolia's stamp set (PPFEB1605).  We used this stamp set in our 2017 Calendars and I wanted to play around with it using Copics, so I've created 2 different cards using the main flowers.

On this first card, I started with Bazzill Dotted Swiss Berry Bliss, Pear and Colour Copy 200gsm.

I stamped the Magnolia's across the top and bottom of the Colour Copy paper using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.  Before colouring the flowers, I blended a little Peeled Paint Distress Ink around the edges and traced around the outside of the images using a E40 Copic Marker.

Now to colour the flowers, the stems are coloured with Copic Markers E77 and E79, Leaves with YG63, YG67 and the flowers with R81, RV34, RV69, Y17 and YR23.

To finish the card, I stamped the words 'Best Wishes' from My Favorite Things CS141 All Occasion Sentiments using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.

Our second card starts with a layer of Bazzill Heather, Lily White and Pear card.

I added a Dienamics Fishtail flag, cut from Lily White and stamped the words from Hero Arts.

On the Pear card, I stamped the Magnolia's using an Olive Archival Ink Pad.

For the main image, I stamped two images on Colour Copy.  The main image was halo cut and from the second image I only cut the open flower.

I coloured the stem with Copic Markers E77 and E79, leaves with YG63 and YG67 and the flowers with V01, V04, V06, V07, Y17 and YR23.

Sending Hugs

Hi Everyone

Sending everyone Hugs today on Valentine's Day

This little bear is from Stamping Bella and is called 'Harry the Stuffie Has Happy Mail.

The base card is Bazzill Lily White and is layered with Dotted Swiss Sandbox, Sweetheart and some pink paper from by paper-stock.

Down the right of the card, I used Memory Box's Vertical Hearts Channel on the Lily White card.  I added a trim of Sandbox card down the right edge to reinforce this side.  On the inside of the card I added some Pink paper to create the contrast.

On the left of the card, I added layers of Sandbox and Pink paper and cut a tag from My Favorite Thing's Dienamics die set.  I also cut a postage stamp from Lily White card to tie the theme together.

Harry was stamped on Colour Copy 200gsm paper using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured with Copic Markers E40, E41, E43, E47 and a little E49 for the nose.  The pinks are R83, R85 and R37.  I added a little Glossy Accents to the nose and heart on the envelope so that they shine a little.

'Sending Hug's is from the My Favorite Thing's All Occasion Sentiments set (CS141).  This is a straight line stamp, but I cut the stamp in half so I could use it as a two line stamp.

Just a tip if you are doing this, don't cut a straight line, but cutting an angle or other shape, it's easy to re-join the stamp and have a straight line next time.

Happy Stamping
