Sending you all a virtual hug

Dear Crafty Friends

During this difficult time, we are sending you all a virtual hug!   This terrible virus is changing the world as we know it and hope everyone is staying safe, healthy and looking after each other, even while social distancing.

We have received a number of calls from people checking in and wanted to let you know that we are all well and watching this develop each day.

To comply with the requirements of social distancing, we have decided to put our classes on hold for April, at least.  We will continue to monitor this on a month-by-month basis and will give you an update in May.

In terms of our shop, we are definitely still open – both the shop and internet shop.  If there is something you are after, we are here to help.

For anyone local, but doesn’t want to come into the store, you can order over the phone or via our website ( and we can meet you at the front gate.  If you order via website, use the Coupon code: Pickup so that postage is not added and we’ll let you know when the order is ready to pick-up.

From Monday, we will also be offering $5 Make & Takes instore.  There will be a different project each week, so if you’re after an outing for around 15 minutes, give us a call and come on over.  We appreciate that sometimes creative energy needs an outlet and by not locking into set class times, we believe we can allow for social distancing.

Every day we hope for some good news about our wonderful medical teams getting ahead on this virus and thank them for everything they are doing.

Please stay healthy and look after each other.
Hugs – Michelle and Robyn

Let's Decorate

Hi Crafty Friends

Our recent delivery from Picket Fence Studios included this beautiful stamp set and oh my, now I need some cake.  This stamp set is called - Let's Decorate.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Creampuff, Pinecone and Dotted Swiss - Irish Eyes.

On the base of the Irish Eyes, I stamped the words from Penny Black's Sprinkles & Smiles stamp set (30-297) and embossed with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

I then cut a scallop rectangle from Creampuff card and coloured the background with Peeled Paint Distress Oxide ink.

I stamped the Cakes and Roses on 200gsm card and coloured with Copic Markers E40, E41, E43, E47, E49, E15, Y21, YR23, YR000, YR02, G20, G21 and G24.

I accented the Cakes and stands using a White Gelly Roll pen.

After cutting out the images (yes, there are dies), I adhered these images to the card using mounting tape.

These stamps (and dies) are available instore or on our website -

Hoping you have a wonderful weekend.

Floral Focus

Hi Crafty Friends

We hope you are all well and keeping away from this terrible virus.

Over the weekend, one of the new My Favorite Things stamps that arrived was - Floral Focus.

This is a beautiful stamp of what looks to me like Magnolia's and is a large, single stamp.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Dotted Swiss - Berry Kiss, followed by Juneberry and Canson Watercolour card.

On the Watercolour card, I very lightly stamped Darkroom Door's French Script using an Antique Linen Distress Ink Pad.  I then stamped the Floral Focus using an Archival Coffee ink pad in the lower right corner.

Using Altenew's Watercolour Palette, I started by colouring the background with Frayed Leaf and softened with water.

I then coloured the Leaves and Stems using Evergreen and the Petals with Cosmic Berry.  When colouring, I colour the centre of the petal and then soften out with water.

The centre of the flowers were coloured with Fresh Lemon.

After this had dried, I blended a little Peeled Paint Distress Ink around the edges and adhered the card together.

'Sending Love' was stamped on Bazzill Pear card using a Versamark Ink pad and embossed with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder (love this product) and then layered onto some Guacamole card.

You can find this stamp set in-store on our website

Wishing you all a happy and healthy day (week, month, year, etc).
