Big Sexy Blooms

Hi Crafty Friends

This weekend, I had some birthday cards to make for some special friends and made these two.

These cards are made using Power Poppy's - Big Sexy Blooms and Darkroom Door's Happy Birthday Sentiment stamps.

On both cards, I stamped the image using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.

For the Pink card, I coloured the background with BG23 and BG10.  I then coloured the centre of all the flowers with E31, E35 and E37.  The Yellow flowers are Y21 and YR23 and the Pink Flower with RV52, RV55, RV34 and RV69.

On the Red card, the background is coloured with E40 and E43 and the Red flowers with R17, R27, R46, R39 and a little E79 for extra shadows.

After colouring both images, I stamped Darkroom Door's Happy Birthday Sentiments down the right of the card using Versamark and embossed with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

When making cards, I also like to stamp in the centre, here I stamped the blue flowers with Archival Bluebird ink pad and the brown with Archival Distress Vintage Photo.

Hope you have a great day.

Cheers

Hi Everyone

I've been playing with Power Poppy's set - Dream Wedding and really liked the shape of the Champagne bottle.  It's small enough to repeat the stamping, but not too small that you lose the detail.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Beetle Black, followed by Gold Foil.

On the Colour Copy paper, I stamped the Champagne Bottles using Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.  I then coloured the background with E40 and E41.

I then coloured the bottles with YG61, YG63, YG67, R20, R22, R27, E35, Y21 and YR23.  I then adhered this to the front of the card.

I then used My Favorite Things 'Cheers' die and cut it from Beetle Black and Gold Foil card.  I then adhered them together slightly off-set.

On Beetle Black, I stamped 'Happy Anniversary' from My Favorite Things - Essential Sentiments stamp set and embossed it with Gold Embossing powder.

I then trimmed off the edges and adhered this and 'Cheers' to the card.

Hope you have a great day

Power Poppy - Go Wild

Hi Everyone

Power Poppy's Go Wild stamp set has this gorgeous little Mason Jar and flowers on it, but always seemed too small to small to be a main feature on a card, but I had an opportunity to play with it over the Christmas break and came up with this card.

Starting with a base card of Bazzill Premium Kraft, I added Java and then Kaisercraft papers.  I used My Favorite Things Tag and Fishtail dies to add layers to the card.  I stamped 'Happy Birthday' on a scrap of Kraft Card and adhered it to the centre of the card and added Twine vertically to the card.

I stamped the Mason Jar with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured it with Copic Markers - E40, E41, E43, BG10, B00, B02, Y15, Y17, E35, E37, YG63, YG67, B18, B23, B32, V15, V17, R20, R22, R27 and R39.

I cut the ovals using My Favorite Things Stitched Ovals dies and distressed the edges.  These ovals were then adhered to the card using mounting tape.

I stamped the Dahlia and Leaves on separate paper and cut them out.

The Leaves were coloured with Copic Markers YG61, YG63 and YG67.

The Dahlia was coloured with Copic Markers R20, R22, R27 and R39.

The word 'August' was coloured Gold using Prima Marketing - Metallique Wax in Vintage Gold.

Power Poppy - Pure Prairie Spirit

Hi Gals

So, after my red card using the Pure Prairie Spirit stamp set, here's the original piece that I was colouring.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Lily White and Heather card.

On the Colour Copy 200gsm paper, I stamped Power Poppy's Pure Prairie Spirit (PPJUL1702) using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.  I blended a little Tumbled Glass Distress Ink around the edges.

I started by colouring the background of the image first, it's a little hard to see on the card, but I started with Copic Markers G21 and G24 and added a little colour behind the flowers so that they didn't appear to be laying flat on the card.

I then coloured the leaves and stems with Copic Markers G24 and G28.

Now for the flowers, I used the following combinations - Yellow flowers Y11, Y08, Y17, YR24.  Pink flowers - RV52, RV55, RV06, RV02 and V06.  The Blue flowers - BV00, BV02, BV13 and BV17.  The centre of the flowers was colouring with E31, E35, E37 and E79.

I then stamped the words on a scrap of paper and adhered them to the top right of the card.

Have a beautiful day.

Power Poppy - Pure Prairie Spirit

Hi Everyone

For anyone who doesn't know me, I really love red.  I was colouring a card the other day with a number of colours (you'll see this card in a couple of days) and thought I would like to try it as a bunch of red flowers, so here you are - Power Poppy's Pure Prairie Spirit (PPJUL1702).

I started with a base card of Bazzill Pomegranate (my favourite red card) and added a layer of Bazzill Lily White and Pear.  On the Pear card, I cut the Lawn Fawn Quilted Backdrop die which is the stitching marks you can see.

I added some scalloped borders and Kaisercraft paper (black paper with green dots, sorry I don't have the code) and the words 'Wishing You A Brilliant Day' from the same stamp set.

For the flowers, I stamped the bunch on Colour Copy 200gsm paper using a Memento Tudexo Black ink pad.

When colouring flowers, I always colour the background first, so started with the greens using Copic Markers YG61, YG63 and YG67.

I then coloured the flowers using Copic Markers R20, R22, R27, R46 and the centre of the flowers with E31, E35, E37 and E79.

I then halo cut around the edges of the flowers and adhered the image to the card using mounting tape.

Hope you have a great day

Best Wishes

Hi Everyone

Since our recent arrival of Power Poppy stamps, I've been making a lot of cards using these fantastic stamps.

Here is a card that I have made using the Power Poppy - Dream Wedding (PPJUN1603) stamp set.  I thought this card could be used for lots of occasions, Wedding, Bridal Shower or Birthday.

I started with base layer of Bazzill Dotted Swiss card - Mud Puddle and added layers of Creampuff and Graphic45 papers 'Birds of a Feather' and 'Just Because' from the Botanical Tea paper range.

I cut the Fishtail Flags from two sets of My Favorite Things Dienamics die sets and edged with a little Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I then tied some white ribbon around the top of the card and secured with a double knot.

In the stamp set, 'Best Wishes' is a two line stamp.  I really wanted this to be a one line stamp, so I carefully cut the stamp in half and lined them up on my acrylic block.  I did do a couple of practice stamps to make sure I had them straight before stamping on the Creampuff card, but it did work.  The stamp will now work in is 2 line or 1 line format, which is great as I really like the font.

Next for the cake, I stamped it on Colour Copy 200gsm card and coloured with Copic Markers E50, E31, E35, Y17, YG03, G07, G28, BV02, BV17, R32, R35, R37, C0, C1, C3 and C5.  I then halo cut the image and adhered it to the card with mounting tape along with the words 'Best Wishes'.

Loving Tulips - 3rd card

Hi Friends

Today is the third card using the Power Poppy - Loving Tulips stamp set.

For this card, I used a base of Bazzill Thunder card followed by Lily White and Romance cards and then added a layer of Kaisercraft paper.

I added a Fishtail from the reverse of the Kaisercraft paper down the centre of the card and edged it with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink.

I then cut a Lace Doily from My Favorite Things from the Thunder card and then mounted it onto the front of the card.

On Colour Copy 200gsm paper, I stamped the Tulips and words using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.  I cut the circle using the My Favorite Things Cross-stitch Circle.

Before colouring, I added a horizontal line on either side of the Jug so that the Jug isn't floating in air.

I coloured around the base of the Jug with Copic Markers C0, C3 and C5.  I then coloured around the outline of the Tulips with B000 and B00.  The Jug was coloured with B91, B93, B95 and B97 and Leaves with YG03, YG06, YG63 and YG67.  The Tulips were coloured with RV21, RV23, R22 and E08.

Hope you liked our 3 cards.

Loving Tulips - card 2

 Hi Friends

We are continuing our sampling of the Power Poppy - Loving Tulips with our second ard.

This card was made with the single Tulips from the set and Darkroom Doors - Memory Quote stamp (DDQS014)

The card base is Bazzill Pansy followed by Lily White and Colour Copy 200gsm paper.

I stamped the Darkroom Door Quote using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and stamped the Tulips around the edges using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.

I blended Peeled Paint Distress Ink around the edges and then coloured the Tulips with YG63, YG67, R83, R85, R39, BV000, BV13, BV17, V12, V15 and V17.

When colouring the Tulip buds, I left the edge of the petals white to make them look more life-like.

Loving Tulips

Hi Everyone

I have been playing with the Power Poppy - Loving Tulips stamp set and have made 3 cards from this stamp set.

The first card to share with you started as a copy of my May calendar.

The card base is Bazzill Dotted Swiss - Rope Swing followed by Lily White, Teal paper and Pomegranate card.

On the Teal paper, I stamped the words 'Hope your day absolutely blooms!' using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.

On Colour Copy 200gsm paper, I stamped the Tulips using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.  I added a horizontal line so that the jug didn't look like it was floating in space.

On the newly formed "table", I colour an outline of Copic C0, C3 and C5.  Around Tulips, I coloured an outline with E50 and E51.

Now for the main image, I coloured the Jug with B00, B12 and BG34, the leaves with YG03, YG63 and YG67 and the Tulips with YR23, Y23, Y38, R81, R32, R35, R37, YR02, YR61 and YR68.

The Tulips were adhered to the card with Mounting tape.

Hi Everyone

Happy 1st of May, our last month of Autumn and it is just starting to get cool here in Brisbane.

Over the past weekend, I have been playing with Power Poppy's 'Loving Tulips' stamp set (PPMAR1703) stamp set and decided to make this my May calendar.

The base of the Calendar is Kaisercraft's Cherry card with Bazzill Thunder and Kaisercraft paper on top.  I added two Stitched Fishtail dies from My Favorite Things cut from Bazzill Guacamole card.

The Tulips were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured with Copic Markers - YR23, Y23, Y38, R81, R32, R35, R37, YR02, YR61, YR68, YG03, YG63, YG67, B00, B12, BG34, C0, C3 and C5.  I also coloured around the outside of the image with E40 and E41.

In Praise of Sunflowers

Hi Everyone

Sunflowers are one of my favourite flowers and colouring them is an opportunity to play with colour and shading.  This stamp set from Power Poppy is called In Praise of Sunflowers (PPAUG1601) and features this lovely large Sunflower.

My first card is a square card which I stamped the Sunflowers over the Colour Copy (200gsm) card using a Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad.  When colouring, I always colour the background first, so I traced the petals and leaves with Copic Markers E40 and E41.  This creates a slight shadow behind the flowers so that they look like they are slightly off the page.

I then coloured the leaves and stems with Copic Markers YG61, YG63, YG67 and G29 and then started colouring the petals with Y35, YR24, E35, E37 and then the centre of the Sunflowers with E29, E49 and E35.

When I finished colouring the Sunflowers, I adhered it to Bazzill Beetle Black (the darkness makes the centre of the Sunflowers pop), added some Dark Brown Twine and then onto the Bazzill Ivy card.  I then added some words from Impression Obsessions stamp B13615.

My second card is a standard A5 card starting with layers of Bazzill Guacamole, Pinecone, Creampuff and Simple Stories paper.  I added the words from the Power Poppy set - Everything's Even Rosier and some twine across the bottom.

With this Sunflower, I stamped it two times on Colour Copy card using a Rich Cocoa Memento Ink Pad (dark brown).  I halo cut one full stamped image and the second image was also halo cut, but this time just the top petals.

I  then coloured the leaves and stems with Copic Markers YG61, YG63, YG67 and G29 and then started colouring the petals with Y35, YR24, E35, E37 and then the centre of the Sunflowers with E29, E49 and E35.

When I finished colouring the Sunflowers, I adhered the full image to the front of the card and mounted the inner petal layer up with mounting tape.

Hope you like the cards.

Power Poppy - Glisten

Hi Everyone

This stamp set is from the Power Poppy 2016 Christmas release but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to play with it last year.  The stamp set is called 'Glisten' PPOCT1604.

I have created 2 cards, one being the traditional Christmas colours and the other a blue/green card.

For the first card, I started with a base of Bazzill Ivy followed by Pomegranate, Guacamole and a woodgrain Kaisercraft paper.  I added horizontal layers of Guacamole and Creampuff card.

On Colour Copy 200gsm paper, I stamped two sets of the Glisten image stamped with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad.  I coloured the base image in full and the second image is just the top flower.  The images have been coloured with Copic Markers G21, G24, G28, G29, R05, R27, R39, Y21 and YR23.  After adhering them to the card, I added some dark brown twine below the main flower.

On the Woodgrain paper, I stamped Stampers Anonymous CMS209 Handwritten Holidays #2, stamped in Versamark and embossed with WOW Opaque White Embossing Powder.

The second card has a base of Bazzill Lily White followed by Guacamole and Jacaranda card.  On the Jacaranda card, I stamped branches from the Glisten stamp using an Archival French Ultramarine ink pad.

Glisten was stamped on Colour Copy paper with a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured with Copic Markers YG61, YG63, YG67, B00, B02, B05, E41 and Y17.  In the centre of the flowers I added Glacier White Enamel Accents and added some dots of Clear Stickles on top.

The words are from the stamp set and were stamped on Creampuff card.

Power Poppy - Simple Joys

Hi Everyone

This stamp set from Power Poppy is so simple and easy to colour, you can make lots of cards in no time - I can hear you all cheering now.

The set is called 'Simple Sayings' and is code PPOCT1605.

We have two card ideas to show you and will start with the Square card.

Starting with a base of Bazzill Dotted Swiss Phoenix, I added Sandbox, Bazzill Ivy and then some Kaisercraft paper from my craft stash.

I added additional layers of Sandbox, Ivy, Phoenix and finixhed with Colour Copy Paper in 200gsm.

I stamped the 'tree' using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured with Copic Markers C0, C1, C3, C5, G21, G24, G28, Y21, YR23, R27, R39, R17, E43, E47 and E35.  I blended a little Brushed Corduroy around the edges and mounted this above the rest of the card.

I then took the words from the set and stamped them in a Bazzill Creampuff circle.  I blended a little Brushed Corduroy ink around the edges and adhered it to a red scallop circle followed by another Ivy circle.  This is adhered to the top right of the 'tree'.

My next card is the blue landscape card.  I started with a base of Bazzill Dotted Swiss Neptune card and added layers of Lily White, Guacamole and Colour Copy 200gsm paper.

I stamped the 'tree' using a Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad and coloured it with Copic Markers C0, C1, C3, G20, G21, G24, BG01, BG05, BG09, E43, E37, Y21 and YR23.  I added Glossy Accents to the baubles so that they looked a little like glass baubles.

To the right of the image, I stamped the words from Stampers Anonymous - Handwritten Holidays 2 (CMS209) using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and finished the piece by blending a little Tumbled Glass Distress Ink Pads around the edges.

Hope you enjoy these cards.

This is Power Poppy's stamp set - Everything's Even Rosier (PPJUN1601) and features some beautiful roses, perfect for Copic colouring.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Lily White, Fawn and the top layer is Graphic45's Botanical Tea paper.
