Calendar Project - July

Hi Everyone

July has arrived and so has the cold snap here in Brisbane - brrrrrrrr.

My calendar theme this month is being wrapped up in a quilt and the Artistic Impressions Quilt Set (4544) came to mind.

I had layers of Bazzill Admiral, Fawn, Pinecone and then Jacaranda.  On the Jararanda card, I stamped the Darkroom Door Measuring Tape (DDBS018) background stamp and then distressed all of the edges with a Tonic Distresser.

I cut the quilt from the My Favorite Things Quilt die from Bazzill Fawn, Creampuff and Graphic 45's paper and then adhered them onto another piece of Creampuff.  Next I blended a little Distress Ink Pad - Brushed Corduroy around the edges.

It's time to stamp the Artistic Impressions ladies and coloured them with Copic Markers E00, E11, R20, R81, E41, E47, E49, E31, E35, Y21, B93, B95, B97 and B99.

Hope you like our July calendar.

Merry

Hi Everyone

It's 1 week today until the Brisbane Craft Fair starts at the Brisbane Convention Centre - let the last minute work begin.  To find out more about the show, go to this web address - http://www.craftfair.com.au/wp/Brisbane/#sthash.XDYfFTf7.dpbs

This card was made using another of the Tim Holtz / Stampers Anonymous Blueprints stamp sets - CMS135 Christmas Blueprint.

I've used the layers - Bazzill Pomegranate, Stardream Antique Gold, Bazzill Guacamole and Bazzill Aloe Vera.  On the Aloe Vera card, I stamped the Darkroom Door Christmas Script DDBS046 and then blended a little Inka Gold around the edges.

On watercolour card, I stamped the Christmas Tree using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.

It's important to us an Archival Ink Pad as it is a waterproof ink and when we blend with water, the ink won't budge.

Trim the card around the tree and blend a little Distress Ink Pad - Brushed Corduroy around the edges.

Around the edges of the tree, blend a little Distress Marker - Festive Berries and blend out with water.

Colour the tree with Distress Markers Forest Moss and Peeled Paint and then the base of the tree with Brushed Corduroy.

After adhering the layers of the card, I added some Glossy Accents to the star on the tree and then added Distress Glitter - Mustard Seed.

The word 'merry' is from the My Favorite Things - Christmas Greetings Dienamics set which I cut from Antique Gold and Pinecone card and off-set slightly.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Craft Fair next week.

Time to start the Christmas Cards

Hi Everyone

For the early starters, they probably already have their Christmas cards made, but to others like us, it's time to start looking around.

I've been playing with the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Blueprint Christmas stamps and have made a couple to share.

This card was created using a  base of Bazzill Ivy, Stardream Antique Gold and then Bazzill Pomegranate.

I stamped the Ornament from CMS168 Christmas Blueprint 2 on Watercolour card and stamped the Darkroom Door French Script stamp in the background with Forest Moss to create some texture.

Around the outside of the ornament, I coloured some Wild Honey Distress Marker and blended out with some water.  On the base of the Ornament, I coloured some Gathered Twigs and blended out again.

For the Ornament, I coloured the shadows with Forest Moss and Aged Mahogany and blended out to Peeled Paint and Festive Berries, adding accents of Wild Honey.

Trimming to fit on the layers of the card and blend a little Aged Mahogany around the edges.

The word 'Christmas' is from My Favorite Things Dienamics Christmas Greeting set which was cut from Lily White and has a little Ink Gold blended over the lower part of the word.

Like to see lots more ideas - drop by and see us at the Craft Fair at the Brisbane Convention Centre, starting 7th October.  We'll be at stand D15 and look forward to seeing you there.

It's Your Day To Celebrate

Hi Everyone

This is My Favorite Things Dienamic Die 'Fresh Cut Flowers' which they bought out late last year.

This die set has a lot of little pieces and comes one a magnet sheet to keep them together.

So, now for my card, starting with a Bazzill Guacamole square card, I added layers of Sweetheart, Kraft and Creampuff which I had stamped Stampendous' Floral Tapestry with an Archival Coffee ink pad.

I then cut a die from Nestabilities Die - Label 16 (S4301) from Kraft card and also stamped the Floral Tapestry on it.  I then added words from Hero Arts set CG611.

Next, we need to start on the flowers, this set has so many possibilities, bunch of roses, bunch daisies, gerberas, mixes and so much more.  It's really fun to play with.

I cut the stems and leaves from the Bazzill Guacamole card and then the flowers from Sweetheart, Petunia and Creampuff.  I grouped the stems together and tied a little twine around them and adhered them to the card with Glossy Accents.

At the top of each of the stems, I added a flower head and a couple of extra leaves where needed.

Lastly, I covered the Creampuff centres with Glossy Accents and tipped Distress Dry Glitter in the colour 'Clear Rock Candy' on top and allowed to dry.

Heart Tray

Hi Everyone

Just mixing it up a little here and using one of Scrapmatt Australia's Mini Tray Heart 01 frames.

I started by colouring the whole frame in Distress Paint - Antique Linen and then threaded some pale pink grosgrain ribbon through the top.

Using a Mini Rolled Rose die from My Favorite Things, I cut a lot - and I mean a lot of roses from Bazzill Romance, Petunia, Sweetheart and Juneberry card and rolled them into small roses.

Keeping the roses in their groups, I adhered the roses in the heart and it's ready to hang.

The card is a Bazzill Kisses card, layered with Pinecone, Sweetheart and Creampuff flags cut from the Dienamics die.

The words and frame are from the Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous stamp set 'Simple Sayings' (CMS155).

Butterflies, Butterflies and more Butterflies

 Hi Everyone

Here's heaps of Butterflies to brighten your day.

The butterflies are cut from the Dienamics Butterflies set, but only using the 2 larger dies.

I started with Bazzill Jacaranda, Petunia and White for the card base.  On the Bazzill White, I stamped Hero Arts S5601 Newspaper Background using an Archival Jet Black ink pad and then blended a little Distress Ink Pad - Worn Lipstick around the edge.

The butterflies were all cut from the same card colours - Petunia, Sunbeam and Jacaranda.  On the larger butterfly, I blended Distress Ink Pad - Wild Honey, Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean to create a contrast.

After adhering the butterflies to the front of the card, I placed some Stickles glitter glue through the centre of each butterflies.

"Thanks"

Hi Everyone

I created this 'thanks' card after playing with the My Favorite Things Alphabet Dienamics.

I started with a Bazzill Ivy card base and layered with White, Candle and Chiffon card.

On the Chiffon card, I stamped Hero Arts Dots & Flowers stamp (S5213) using Distress Ink Pad Squeezed Lemonade.  I then layed the letters for the word 'thanks' on the Chiffon card and used a rular to straighten them up.  I then placed a strip of sticky tape over the letters to hold them in place.  I then run them through the Cuttlebug / Big Shot and then removed the tape and letters.  I then adhere the layers in place.

The flowers have been created using Dienamics 'Prima Donna Petals' die and have been cut from Bazzill White, Chiffon and Candle.  After adhering the to front of the card, I applyed some Stickles glitter to the centre.

Christmas Magnolia Frame 3

Hi Everyone
This is the last of my three Kaisercraft / Magnolia Christmas Frames.

In the background, I have used Magnolia's 'Edwin's Town' and in the front 'Wrapped Presents', 'Tilda with Wedding Gifts' and 'Tilda with Fir'.

Across the top, I used My Favorite Things Dienamics 'Vine Border' and turned them into glittery lights.  I cut the Vine Border from Bazzill Ivy, Marashino and Beeswax.  Take the Beeswax card and cut ever second 'light' off.  Do the same with the Marashion (alternativing from the ones you cut from the Beeswax.  Lastly take the Ivy card and cut all 'lights' off.  Adhere the three together.  When you have them on the frame, apply Stickles to the 'lights' and Glossy Accents to the 'cord'.  Wah-la - glittery lights.

The images have been coloured with Copic Markers - E00, E11, R20, E31, E35, E37, C3, C7, G21, G24, G28, R05, R27 and R59.

I also added Glossy Accents to the wax seals on the presents and both of Tilda's shoes.

Given it's Friday, have a great last day of work and a wonderful weekend.

Christmas Cooking

Hi Everyone

Each year at work, we celebrate Christmas week and tomorrow is our first day and it's the Christmas Bake Sale.

This year I have made Pistachio Fudge, Macadamia Gingernut Balls, Coconut Ice (traditional and Christmas colours) and Christmas Bark.

To top each, I made a label using the My Favorite Things 'Stocking Trio' cut from Bazzill Ivy, Leapfrog and Pomegranate and accented with a small star cut from Bling (MFT Star Stax).  On the back, I wrote the name of each product.

Fingers crossed, we sell everything.  All money goes to charity.

Hi Everyone

I have been playing with the new Dienamics Baby Onesie Die/Stamp set to create this little Baby Girl card.

The set is made up of the onesie die and a lot of baby them logos to decorate the onesie with.

I cut the oneise from Bazzill Petunia, Romance and Lily White and trimmed around the fold lines to decorate the onesie.

I stamped 'Little Girl' using Versamark and embossed with White embossing powder.  I also added some White Liquid Pearl dots across the bottom of the onesie for the buttons.

Layer on Petunia and Lily White card and Kaisercraft papers and trim with ribbon.

...Wishes

Hi Everyone

Cheryl has been playing around with the Penny Black unmounted stamp set '...Wishes' and making some great mini cards.

Start by stamping on the inside of your card and colour.

Place a circle Nestabilities over the image, with masking tape sticky side up and close the card.  When you open it again, the Nestabilities will be attached to the front of the card.  Run through a Cuttlebug or Big Shot and the circle will be cut for the front of the card.

Decorate the outside of the card with card and ribbon.  Compliment the circle on the front of the card by cutting out a My Favorite Things - Mini Doily Circle from co-ordinating card.

Thanks Cheryl for sharing.
