Welcome to the World

Hi Everyone

In our March class, we made an Owl card and wanted to share this variation on our card with this baby card.

This is from the Sizzix Owl Fold-a-long die set 661138 and can be so much fun.

For this baby card, I started with a base of Bazzill Romance card which was cut to 15x30cm and folded in half.  Line the large die up with the fold line and cut the three owls in one step.

I then cut the additional shapes from Bazzill Fawn, Petunia, Pinecone, Cantaloupe, Beetle Black and Lily White.

On all of the Owl's I stencilled the Tim Holtz Argyle stencil using a Brushed Corduroy or Victorian Velvet ink pad.  I also cut an Oval from Lily White card and stamp the words from Darkroom Door's stamp set - Baby Vol 1 (DDRS037) using an Archival Jet Black ink pad.

Time to start assembling the card.  I leave the card flat until all of the shapes have been adhered to the card.  Adhere the Fawn body to the centre Owl and the words on top.  Add the Pinecone foreheads and then the beaks which have had Carved Pumpkin Distress Ink Pad blended around the edges.

For the wings, after cutting them, I traced another set onto Fawn card, so that they had a layer inside them.  I blended around the edge with Victorian Velvet and adhered the 6 wings to the card.

The last step is to add the eyes.  Just a tip, point the highlight in the eyes towards the eyelashes so that you don't end up with googly eyes later on.

Once the glue has dried, fold the card and score the edges with a bone scorer or something similar.

Hope you love our Owl cards as much as we do.

Happy Stamping
Michelle & Robyn
