CHA 2016 part 2

Hi Everyone

Here's some news from the world of Tim Holtz (Ranger, Ideaology and Stampers Anonymous).

Tim released a number of new products at CHA this year and also set the attendees in morning when he announced that Grungepaper was being discontinued (arrgggghhh!!!).  Tim is replacing Grungepaper with a product called 'Substrate' which comes in a pack of 9 sheets in 3 colours which unlike Grungepaper can be used with your thin dies to cut intricate designs.

Ok, now for the new releases.  Lets start with Distress Crayons.  Whilst Tim wanted to release all Distress colours as Distress Crayons, Ranger told him he could have 18 and they'd see how they would go (you would have thought they would have learnt by now).

The Distress Colours come in 3 packs of 6 crayons and whilst labelled Set 1, 2 and 3 but I'd prefer how Tim called them -

Bright - Mermaid Lagoon, Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Twisted Citron

Earth Tones - Festive Berries, Fossilized Amber, Chipped Sapphire, Rusty Hinge, Peeled Paint, Seedless Preserves

Vintage - Antique Linen, Walnut Stain, Black Soot, Vintage Photo, Hickory Smoke and Picket Fence.

Here's a sample of the sets coloured on watercolour card and blended out using a water brush.

There are similarities between Distress Crayons and Gelatos, but unlike Gelatos, once dry, the Distress Crayons are permanent once dry and cannot be used on your stamps (unless you want the rubber coloured another colour).

Tim also released new Distress Collage Mediums in the shades of Matte, Vintage and Crazing.  They will come as individual pots like these or for people who want to test it first, smaller pots in a set of 3.

Tim also released Distress Collage Brushes which are used with the Collage Mediums, but can also be used to apply other mediums (paints, etc) to your work and a really easy to use.  They have lovely brushes and a short handle making it easy to grip and don't take a lot of room to store.

After the success of Stampers Anonymous' Crazy Birds, this year Tim has released Crazy Cats.  These are so cute and I think a number of people are going to love these additions.  These stamps are released in late January, but for some reason, Sizzix are releasing the matching dies on 1 April.  Strange!!!

Ok, time for a quick whip around some of the other items that I'm looking forward to using from the Tim Holtz / Ranger world - Picket Fence Distress Ink Pad, finally they have released the white ink pad.  I saw some great work done by stamping a detailed image on dark card and was impressed by how clear the image was.  As it's Distress, not a pigment white ink pad, the finer images are really clear.

In terms of storage, keep an eye out for the new Ideaology Storage Spinner and Distress Marker Storage Tin from Ranger

Just released were the newest mini Distress Ink Pads now being sold as individual colours (rather than sets), Distress Paints are changing to flip top lids rather than the Dabber top (although the Dabbers can still be purchased and replace the flip top lid if you'd prefer).

Happy Stamping
Michelle & Robyn
