Botanical Notes

Hi Everyone

With the long weekends behind us, it's back to work until our next holiday being the June long weekend - very exciting as June long weekend means - Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo.

The classes have now been announced and a number of people have seen our class at 10am being a fantastic Elizabeth Crafts Accordian Card decorated with Butterflies or Flowers.  We have received some enquiries as to whether people can book in early and you certainly can, just give us a call and let us know what day you would like to join us.

This weekend I have been playing with the Penny Black Botanical Notes Slapstick/Cling stamp 40-276.

The card is made of Bazzill Leapfrog, Lily White and Dotted Swiss - Romanic Mauve card.

I started this card by covering HP Colour Laser Jet paper with Distress Stain - Scattered Straw and stamped the first layer of the card.  I then trimmed the image to 9x9.5cm, cutting around the top petals.  I then edged the card with Brushed Corduroy and started colouring.

There are 3 additional layers to the flowers and 1 additional layer to the butterfly.

I coloured the images with Copic Markers -
Leaves and Stems - E18, YG63, YG67
Butterfly - E18, E35, Y38
Flowers - R81, R83, R85, RV69 and the centre is E18 and Y38
Seal - YG91 and YG95

With each additional layer, I bruised the back of each image with a stylus and then added some very small pieces of mounting tape and added them to the centre of the wing or petal and adhered the base of the image with Glossy Accents.

Add a little Hemptique Twine to the base of the flower and the words are from Penny Black - Gratitude Clear Stamp set.

Happy Stamping
Michelle
