Darkroom Door - Tropical Flowers

Hi Everyone

We're back again with another card from the new release from Darkroom Door - Tropical Flowers (DDRS182), this time using the Frangipani's.

This card starts with a base of Bazzill Lily White, Fawn and then Whirlpool card. All layers of this card were distressed with a Tim Holtz Distresser.

On the Whirlpool card, I stamped the Wordblock stamp - Seaside (DDWB013) using a Distress Ink Pad - Peacock Feathers.  I also stamped the 'Happy Birthday' from the Birthday Wordblock stamp (DDWB001) and embossed it with WOW Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

Now for the Frangipani flowers - these flowers have been stamped on white card using an Memento Cantaloupe ink pad.  The reason for using this ink pad is that I don't really want to see the lines of the stamp (sorry Rachel), but use them as a guide for colouring the stamped image.

Firstly, I coloured the yellow and white Frangipani using Copic Markers, starting in the centre with Copic Markers YR24, YR23, Y21 and Y00, gradually getting lighter as I moved towards the outer petal.

Then I started colouring the yellow and pink Frangipani's.  To start, colour the Frangipani using the same colours as the first flower and then add pinks using Copic Markers RV52 and RV55, gradually moving towards the centre of the petals.

I added some mesh from May Arts and then adhered the flowers to the card using glue and mounting tape.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Happy Stamping
Michelle & Robyn
