I was asked by my niece to make a Christmas card for her class to sign for their teacher. It had to be big enough for everyone to sign but the design was up to me.
We'll my niece is just finishing grade 3 and not knowing how many class mates she had, I made an A5 concertina Christmas card .... and here it is.
I started with 2 pieces of Ivy 12x12 card and cut it down to 21cm. On the first piece, I folded the card at 14.8cm and made another score line at the end. On the second card, I scored again at 14.8cm and trimmed off the overhang. I then adhered the overhang from the first piece to the back of the second piece, creating the concertina.
I then layered the card with Bazzill Pomegranate and HP Colour Laser Jet paper in 200gsm.
On the front cover, I stamped the two cheeky Elves (40-088 Little Elf Finn and 40-089 Little Elf Mim) using Memento Tuxedo Black, masking Finn before I stamped Mim.
I then laid a mask over both images and stamp the Darkroom Door Christmas Script (DDBS046) over the background using a Wild Honey Distress Ink Pad and then blended around the edges.
I coloured the Elves with Copic Markers E00, E11, R20, E35, E37, G21, G24, G28, Y11, Y15, YR23, R05, R27 and R59.
I then added the words 'Merry Christmas' from the Penny Black Joyous Wishes (51-058) die set, cut from Bazzill Ivy. Lastly, I added some glitter to the Elves for a little sparkle.
On the inside of the card, I lightly stamped the Christmas script around the edges of the HP paper, using the Wild Honey Distress Ink Pad and blended around the edges.
On the first panel, I stamped the Christmas Trees from the Penny Black Festive Forest 30-197 stamp set and coloured them with the Copic Markers.
On the last panel, I stamped the Penny Black 'Little Elf Present' (40-090) and coloured him with the same Copic Markers.
I hope Tahlia's teacher loves the card.
Happy Stamping
Michelle
