Playing with Roses and Distress

Hi Everyone

As many of you know, the Darkroom Door - Bright Blossoms Vol 2 (DDRS108) is one of my favourite stamp sets, especially after our April class where we stamped and coloured the image with Distress Ink Pad Picked Raspberry.

On Saturday night, I was preparing some more ATC's for demos at the June Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo and started to play some more..... the results were....

a collection of Roses.  In this collection, I used Distress Ink Pads - Wild Honey, Barn Door, Rusty Hinge and Vintage Photo.

To colour the roses, stamp the image on 300gsm Watercolour paper using your chosen Distress Ink Pad (here I used Barn Door).  You'll notice that the image is a little patchy because of the texture in the watercolour paper...no problems, a little water will fix that.

Colour over the solid parts of the rose with a waterbrush and allow to dry a little.  Bring your brush a little further out into each petal so that the colour is slightly diluted.

Keep moving the colour out until there is only a little white around each petal.

To see this in person, stop by our stand at the Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo at the South Brisbane Convention Centre 8-10 June.

Happy Stamping
Michelle
